“Monogatari Series Second Season” Episode 2 Recap: “Tsubasa Tiger, Part 2”

"That's why I'm so jealous of Senjōgahara... That's also why I like her so much and I just can't hate her."

Tsubasa, who is staying with Hitagi, share the same shower and the same bed with her. The two of them, who have their own ways of approaching people, have changed drastically from when they had their strange encounters with Araragi Koyomi. However, Tsubasa has no clue herself that she had changed.

The reason why we skipped a few chapters from the first episode is because of Black Hanekawa. As we know from the Golden Week Incident in Nekomonogatari (Black), Tsubasa, who is the protagonist in this series, turns into Black Hanekawa when she is too stressed. Tsubasa, known for being "too perfect," became too stressed from others' hopes and expectations and turned into a defect.

She has no family, blood-related or not, and had lived on her own since she was 15. The house where she had lived in suddenly burnt down and gave her a traumatic shock. Then, Black Hanekawa, who suddenly showed up, fled to the town at night and went up to the White Tiger.

If that wasn't weird enough, before the night turned into day, she left behind these mysterious words: "We have already begun."

The next morning, Tsubasa, who doesn't know that she had turned into Black Hanekawa, makes a slightly different breakfast for Hitagi. It is a sign that she isn't the usual her.

Then Hitagi asks her again, "Would you still say that you like Araragi?"
