NTT Docomo, a mobile phone operator, will sell the “Xperia feat. Hatsune Miku” smartphone, which is limited to 39,000, in the latter end of this September in Japan. Dipped in Miku’s signature teal color, the stunning smartphone features themed wallpaper and a graphic of Miku’s twin tails on the back surface.
The “Xperia feat. Hatsune Miku” model will be the NTT Docomo’s Xperia A SO-O4E, the latest model of the Xperia series. Techies, the main specs are as follows. The model features a 4.6 inch HD (1280 x 720) touchscreen display and a 13 megapixel rear camera. It measures in at 131 x 67 x 10.5 millimeters and is lightweight at 141 grams. It will run Android 4.2, pack a 1.5Ghz quad-core CPU, as well as 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and a microSD slot for expandable storage.
Crypton Future Media’s official site “Find Your Miku Project” released together with the announcement of the smartphone. Fans can check out the site to listen to sound clips, including one created by the famous Vocaloid producer Livetune, that being accepted as content for the smartphone.
Also, a Hatsune Miku concert using AR technology will be held from July 16-21 from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. at Roppongi Hills’ Metro Hat. By launching a special AR app on an Android smartphone or tablet and holding the device up to the Metro Hat, a gigantic Hatsune Miku will appear to perform a concert for fans’ enjoyment. Furthermore, as part of the same project, Crypton Future Media and Sony Music Records will release the concept CD MikXperience e.p. on Aug. 28.
