On July 13, the broadcast of the TV anime A Town Where You Live will begin on TV Tokyo’s six channels. The newcomer group MimimemeMIMI’s debut song “Sentimental Love” has been chosen as the anime’s opening theme. Also announced are details about the single’s release on Aug. 14.
The first press version of the single will incorporate many aspects of A Town Where You Live. The jacket will be specially drawn by series creator Koji Seo. A DVD of the creditless opening and ending movies of the anime will also be included with the single as a special bonus.
The CD will also include a character song called “Senkou Hanabi” on which three of the main cast members sing: Megumi Nakajima, Ayane Sakura and Yuki Takao. “Senkou Hanabi” is a refreshing song that evokes the feeling of summer. Both “Senkou Hanabi” and “Sentimental Love” were produced by well-known composer Atsushi Yuasa, who has also produced songs for ClariS among others.
The regular version of the single for “Sentimental Love” will come with a jacket specially illustrated by MimimemeMIMI member and illustrator, Chamooi. The coupled track on this version will be “Am I Ready?”. The first press edition of the CD will cost 1,680 yen and the regular edition will cost 1,260 yen (both prices include tax).
Also, a short promotional video for the official image song to A Town Where You Live titled “Mr. Darling” has been released on YouTube. MimimemeMIMI’s official site also opened at the beginning of this month, and they are expected to leap off from here.
MimimemeMIMI is a unit comprised of singer/songwriter Yuka and illustrator Chamooi. The two knew of each other’s activities while still college students and wanted to fuse music and illustrations. Following the suggestion of those involved with the planning of the anime’s theme song, they joined forces and became a unit.
