Anime Song Column 5: DJ Kazu Discusses "Mittsu Kazoete Daishuugou"

At any rate, this is a fast, jittery song that plunges ahead! Surely this song was originally written with a slower tempo but they've decided to bring forth an accelerated feel. I took the liberty of assuming that the beats per minute were raised to about ten. It's a tune that you definitely can't catch up with right after you've woken up or when you're tired. It vigorously reels you in and before you know it, you're dancing! In the vocals at the beginning, the dynamism of the "Ko" of the lyric "Kocchi Kite! Hayaku" is too amazing! When I recorded this song on my mix CD, in order to utilize this first lyric, I decided to scratch that part to be able to connect it to the next song.

As you'd expect, in the intro part of many songs, there are piano sounds, guitar sounds or sound effects like a "shhhhh" and just like the opening theme song "Motteke! Sailor Fuku" of the anime Lucky Star, I have the urge to tinker with it in my own way as a DJ. Something like, since I'm doing it anyway, I might as well do it this way and make everyone listen to it! Rather than making you listen to a smooth, natural transition from the previous song, the ambiance will completely change since it's a song that will be played with an "insert" at the beginning and everyone can swiftly react to it. As you'd expect from the composer Maeyamada, it's an addictive song.
