“Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion” Blu-ray Box with 5.1 Channel Audio and New Content to Release

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, an anime that began broadcasting in 2006 and has since created a huge movement, will be released as a Blu-ray box set. It has been announced that on Sept. 25, Bandai Visual will released the “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion 5.1 Ch. Blu-ray Box.”

It’s true that a Blu-ray of the anime was released back at the time it was airing, but at that time, Blu-ray wasn’t a very widespread format yet. As such, there are many fans now who are wanting another chance to get their hands on the Blu-ray version of the anime. Therefore, this Blu-ray box is a long-awaited item for fans.

When the Blu-ray box is released, it will include new content and special bonus items. Also, an exciting point to take note of is that the audio will be recorded in 5.1 channel surround sound. According to Bandai Visual, this was due to a fresh interpretation of the work. It will be curious to see what has changed. The stereo audio used in the TV series will also be included, so those who are curious can compare the two.

Furthermore, a new picture drama was produced and audio commentary recorded for this new box set. In addition, the box set will include the exclusive videos and voice specials included with the Blu-rays and DVDs previously released. With all of its content, this box set is a complete item.

To celebrate the release of this box set, it’s been decided that a special event will be held. On July 26 at Shinjuku Wald 9, a talk event and all-night screening titled “Selection Night” will be held. Guests for the event will be Jun Fukuyama, the voice of Lelouch, and Yukana, the voice of C.C. In addition to a discussion among the guests, 10 episodes from the anime will be screened, a raffle for prizes will be held, and more. Information on ticket price and how to buy them will be announced on the official site.

Also, a screening event will be held later this summer for the newest work in the series, Code Geass: Akito the Exiled Chapter 2: The Torn-up Wyvern. It seems the Code Geass series is popular once more.
