“Evangelion and Japanese Swords Exhibit” Reaches Fukuoka, Commemorative Stamp Rally Held

Starting from the Bizen Osafune Japanese Sword Museum in Okayama Prefecture, the “Evangelion and Japanese Swords Exhibit” is traveling around Japan. To commemorate the start of the exhibit on May 24 in Fukuoka Prefecture, a stamp rally is being implemented in collaboration with Kotobukiya’s Fukuoka Tenjin store.

“Evangelion and Japanese Swords Exhibit” is themed around the world of Evangelion, and swordsmiths from throughout Japan are competing in traditional techniques. Many new swords such as the “Lance of Longinus” were forged for this event. The “Bizen Osafune” and the “Magoroku Sword” from Another Story are especially worthy of noting. They are gathering attention, as they were born from the explanation that they are based on “Bizen Osafune,” an actually existing sword, and Magoroku, a blacksmith. The exhibition introduces the world of Japanese swords through such collaborative works, although there is, of course, an area selling original goods.

The stamp rally is carried out at Solaria Stage in Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture. Participants have to collect stamps from three places in the Solaria Stage building and Nishitetsu Fukuoka Station building, and if they show these at the display hall, Nishitetsu Hall, or Kotobukiya Fukuoka Tenjin store, they will be presented with a special, not-for-sale postcard.

The stamp sheets are distributed at all the stamp locations. It is also worth noting that there are two kinds of postcards, postcard A is distributed at Nishitetsu Hall, and postcard B at Kotobukiya Fukuoka Tenjin. If you want both postcards, you can get them by taking the filled stamp sheet to both places.

As for the design, on postcard A there are four 1/6 figures made by Kotobukiya, while postcard B has Fukuoka castle in the background. The stamp rally is being held for the duration of the exhibit (until June 23) or until stocks last.
