To commemorate the release of the newest Dragon Ball movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods on March 30, 2013, 10 Dragon Ball movies formerly released in theaters were streamed on Nico Nico Live, a live streaming service on Nico Nico, which is run by companies Dwango and Niwango.
The following 10 movies were streamed consecutively from March 22-29: Curse of the Blood Rubies (1986), Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle, Mystical Adventure, Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone, The World's Strongest, The Tree of Might, Cooler’s Revenge, The Return of Cooler, Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan, and The Path to Power. Out of the 10 movies, seven were streamed for free.
In addition, one of the voice actors playing in the movie, the popular star Shoko Nakagawa, conveyed her feelings regarding the new movie on a special Dragon Ball edition of Nico Nico Live’s regular program “Shokotan no wo” the day before the movie was released.
