"MIKUNOPOLIS in LOS ANGELES -Happy to meet you! I'm HATSUNE MIKU-" was a concert held on July 2, 2011 at the Nokia Theater, Los Angeles, California. The entry fee was only $15 USD and the event was streamed on Nico Nico Douga for 1,500 NicoPoints. The concert was organized by Crypton Future Media and SEGA, in association with Toyota, Anime Expo, and piapro. It was a part of the Anime Expo convention which is held annually.

Miku was used to advertise the Toyota Corolla in commercials leading up to the event, and she was Anime Expo's first ever "Virtual Guest of Honor". The concert used 3D imaging created by SEGA and supervised by Crypton Future Media.

On May 26, all 3,500 tickets sold out and a smaller set of tickets went on sale on the day of the concert which also sold out shortly thereafter. Over 5,000 people were in attendance for the concert, making it one of Hatsune Miku's largest concerts based on attendance. Ordinarily, the Nokia Theater can house around 7,000 attendees but due to the nature of the concert, seats that would not be able to see the screens were not sold.

On the day of the concert, the Nokia Theater grounds was swarming with fans but the merchandise lines were very orderly, surprisingly a few of the Japanese fans who were in attendance. Due to the number of people, a second entrance was opened up to allow fans inside the venue. Even with 5 minutes till the concert started, there were still many people lining up outside to get in. Many cosplayers were in attendance as well as itasha, cars with decals usually of anime characters. On this day, the itasha that were there were covered with Hatsune Miku stickers.
From the moment the first song World is Mine started playing, fans stood up waving their glowsticks in unison with the music, creating a wondering sea of teal lights in an otherwise dark theater. And, though the audience was predominantly American fans who did not know many of the lyrics to Hatsune Miku's songs, they still tried their best with select phrases in songs, shouting out in unison. As the songs concluded, Hatsune Miku appeared and spoke to the audience in English, saying, "I'm looking forward to see you again!" which drew tremendous applause and cheers from those attending.
When the event finished, fans congregated outside the venue with glowsticks still shining teal, discussing their thoughts on the concert, which were mostly positive. Most of the conversations were with strangers so it was befitting to the image of Hatsune Miku bringing the world together through music.

On April 16, 2013, Aniplex released the CD and bluray set of the concert for $75 USD. Besides the concert, included in the set was The Making of MIKUNOPOLIS and the Opening Act as well as a double-sized poster. The concert itself contained closed captions with Romaji as well as song lyrics translations, which is rarely done for Japanese concert blurays that are released in the West. However, during the medley, captions were not included due to respecting its creators' intentions.
