OtapediaHakase Fuyuki - VTuber

Hakase Fuyuki has steadily gained popularity as a well-rounded VTuber. Her singing talent, adaptability, and laid-back approach have helped her carve out a place in Nijisanji’s large cohort of creators.

Hakase Fuyuki Background

Hakase Fuyuki is a female Japanese VTuber affiliated with Nijisanji. She debuted as a high school student with a love for science experiments and mysterious chemicals. Her primary streaming hours are between 11:00 pm and 2:00 am Japan Standard Time.

Hakase Fuyuki History

Hakase made her YouTube debut on July 6, 2019. She reached her first milestone with 100,000 subscribers in December 2019. On March 23, 2020, Hakase debuted her 2.0 brush-up for her 2D model. She appeared in the Kyo to Aki to Nijisanji live event in September 2020 where she unveiled her 3D model. Her 3D model live stream event took place on October 23, 2020. As of April 2021, Hakase has four costume designs and over 250,000 subscribers on YouTube.

Hakase Fuyuki Physical Description

Hakase is a curvy teenage girl with long, silver hair and red eyes. In her default outfit, she wears her hair in twin tails with blunt bangs. The clips in her hair take their design from Euler's formula. She wears a black school uniform with a white lab coat on top. An apron with vials full of colorful chemicals sits low on her hips. White gloves, knee-high boots, and black and white trillium flowers tucked into her apron belt complete the design. Hakase's subsequent outfits include a winter-themed design, a devil costume in part of a collaboration with SMC Gumi, and a catgirl costume.

Hakase Fuyuki Personality

Hakase has a soft-spoken, yet somewhat shameless personality. While she isn't one of the extreme oversharers in Nijisanji, Hakase doesn't get embarrassed when telling her chat she needs to go to the bathroom. She can get flustered in stressful situations, as seen during her Sekiro series. As a hobbyist scientist, Hakase is very intelligent. However, she claims to lack substantial knowledge or intelligence, especially when numbers are involved. She proves herself wrong through her gaming, which reflects her skills as an adaptable and fast learner.

Notable Games and Series

Hakase frequently streams gaming content despite her lack of noteworthy skills. As a result, her streams are full of mistakes and player deaths. In her long-term series, Hakase acknowledges her lack of skills and incorporates it into her delivery.

Sekiro Challenge

In September 2020, Hakase started streaming Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice with an additional rule. If she dies at any point, she immediately ends the stream. This rule led to over 80 streams by the time she completed the game in January 2021. Many streams lasted only five or ten minutes before Hakase died and ended the broadcast. She lifted the rule in certain game milestones, such as the major boss battles. Her boss fights in Sekiro can last over seven hours until she finally defeats them and returns to her regular streaming. She streamed post-game content through February, abandoning her death rule as a reward for finishing the main game.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

One of Hakase's first streams showcased her early attempts at The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. She approaches the game at a leisurely pace, often taking time to explore and chat with viewers. During earlier streams, Hakase made many rookie mistakes, fumbling button commands and dying numerous times. As the series continued, her skills gradually increased and she started to make progress within the game's storyline. Hakase finished her Breath of the Wild adventure in March 2021. The series contains 31 archived streams. Earlier streams last around 90 minutes to two hours. As Hakase progresses, the streams grow longer from around four hours to as long as eight hours.

Notable Partnerships/Collaborations

Like other members in Nijisanji, Hakase has been assigned to numerous collaboration groups with other agency VTubers. These collaborations range from casual gaming and chat streams to professional record label deals.

TRiNITY

TRiNITY is the name of Hakase's musical group with Takamiya Rion and Furen E. Lustario. The group released their first original song, "L ♡ Fanfare" in September 2020. On February 27, 2021, TRiNITY performed at the closing ceremony for the Nijisanji Anniversary Festival. After their performance, they announced their major-label debut with NBCUniversal Japan. Due to Otogibara Era's retirement, TRiNITY replaced petit fleurs as the host of The Catch radio show on Tuesday nights. They took over broadcasts starting March 30, 2021.

SMC Gumi

SMC Gumi is Hakase's debut cohort with Kagami Hayato and Yorumi Rena. The letters refer to their respective "professions," with Hakase as a scientist, Yorumi as a magician, and Kagami as a CEO. As a trio, SMC Gumi performs song covers for celebratory events and share builds on the Nijisanji Minecraft server. Hakase also hosts Kagami and Yorumi individually as frequent collaborators when gaming.

Other Activities

When starting her channel, Hakase demonstrated her artistic talents with drawing streams. She uses Clip Studio Paint and gives commentary on her pen techniques during the stream. Her subject matter often included fellow VTubers, particularly Yorumi and Kagami. The streams are not listed in a playlist but are still available to watch as of April 2021.
