Natsume Yuujincho Gets Season 6 for 2017!

Season 6 of fantasy manga Natsume Yuujincho (original work by Midorikawa Yuki) is slated for a 2017 release under the title Natsume Yuujincho Roku, or Natsume’s Book of Friends Six.

Serialized in shojo manga magazine Lala, Natsume Yuujincho is the mysterious tale of 15-year-old Natsume Takashi, who can see ghosts. Together with his unlikely bodyguard Nyanko-sensei, he reaches out to the youkai who appear through his “Book of Friends”.

Picking up from a four year gap from the last season, Season 5 (titled Natsume Yuujincho Go) came to an end on Dec. 21, to be continued in 2017.

And if this wasn’t enough, it’s also been revealed that special episodes will be created for inclusion as a special bonus in Volume 4 and 5 of the Blu-ray/DVD compilation for Season 5. “One Night Sake Cup” in Volume 4 will relate the tale of a youkai couple who make sake cups while journeying. Meanwhile, Volume 5’s “Banquet of Games” will give us a number of Natsume’s episodes getting caught up in the games of the youkai.
