The Sanrio Danshi (meaning "Sanrio Boys") are five fictional high school students who just can't get enough of the adorable characters created by Sanrio! Each teen has his own favourite Sanrio character, and Yuu Mizuno's favourite happens to be My Melody. Thanks to MegaHouse Corporation's Palmate series of palm-sized figures that let you feel even more connected to your beloved characters, soon you'll be able to spend precious moments with this My Melody-loving cutie! Pre-orders for Palmate Sanrio Danshi Yuu Mizuno started on Premium Bandai at 4 p.m. (JST) on Monday, Nov. 7, and it retails for ¥4,968 (including tax and shipping, excluding handling).
The Sanrio Danshi are a group of five high school boys who each have a favourite Sanrio character, and they were announced in November 2015 on Sanrio's official Twitter account. The group's My Melody fan, Yuu Mizuno, is joining MegaHouse Corporation's Palmate series of figures that fit right in the palm of your hand. Wearing his school uniform and posing casually, this figure seems to capture Yuu in an everyday school situation.
Yuu Mizuno adores My Melody, and he has a considerate, "older brother" kind of personality. Sitting in the taiiku-zuwari pose commonly seen during gym class and looking upwards while winking and flashing a peace sign, the playful look recreated in this figure is classic Yuu. With his trademark pink hair clips, he's seriously cute, but features like his manly hands reaching out from his baggy cardigan radiate coolness.
The second figure to join the Palmate Sanrio Danshi series will be Yuu Mizuno's childhood friend, Shunsuke Yoshino. This figure is currently under development, but once it's available for purchase, you'll be able to sit Yuu and Shusuke next to each other and imagine their conversations, immersing yourself in the world of Sanrio Danshi!
