To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the popular manga and anime series Crayon Shin-chan, the Crayon Shin-chan 25th Anniversary Commemorative Project Executive Committee are opening the Crayon Shin-chan collaboration cafe Bistro Oramachi in Tokyo Skytree's Tokyo Solamachi. It will be open for a limited time only from Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016 until Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, so pause that episode of Action Kamen, put down those Chocobi, and hurry on over!
This collaboration cafe is part of the "Crayon Shin-chan 25th Anniversary Commemorative Event: Ora no Machi Kasukabe ni Kureba~" (meaning "Why not come to my hometown of Kasukabe?"). This event is designed to liven up Kasukabe City in Saitama Prefecture, which is where Crayon Shin-chan is set, through a variety of fun promotions.
The Bistro Oramachi cafe was created with the joint sponsorship of Saitama Prefecture, Kasukabe City, and Tobu Railway Co., Ltd. The cafe is decorated with original specially drawn designs, and it will be home to a variety of promotions to liven up Kasukabe City.
■ Bistro Oramachi Menu
Bistro Oramachi was created in collaboration with Cafeteria Frezza, the popular Italian cafe that opened in August 2016. This pop-up cafe's extravagant menu features the perfect treats to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Crayon Shin-chan, including meals that the Nohara family and the members of the Kasukabe Defence Organization would love to try!
The jumbo-sized "Spectacular Victory!! Golden Buriburi Port Cutlet Burger with Norinori Fries" is made using the extremely difficult to procure and extremely high quality Kinboshi Saga Buta brand pork, with a generous helping of cabbage and special sauce on top. This simple combination showcases the deliciousness of the tender and juicy Kinboshi Saga Buta pork. You can also enjoy all kinds of different flavours with the "Chou Arashi o Yobu! Genkotsu Tan-Cobb Salad Tortilla." This dish features a Cobb salad packed with matured and rich-tasting Kinboshi Saga Buta bacon, chicken, tomato, egg, chickpeas, and cream cheese wrapped in a tortilla with a cute design toasted on.
The "Nohara Garden Doria Bursting with Shin-chan's Favorite Vegetables (with Soup)" is made using a hotel bechamel sauce, and it features incredibly tender giant white tiger prawns. It also comes with fresh vegetables, soft boiled egg, and cheese, making it the perfect meal to warm you up during the colder months. (Recipe adapted from Misae's Lazy Cooking). "Misae's Super Juicy Skirt Steak" stars a tender and juicy beef skirt steak cooked medium rare. This extravagant dish is a favourite in the meat-loving Nohara household, and you get to enjoy it with a demi-glace sauce featuring bouillon made by boiling together beef with vegetables grown in Japan. The "Bistro Oramachi Deluxe Beef Stew & Butter Rice" made by meticulously boiling beef is another excellent dish that the cafe is rather proud of.
The Bistro Oramachi menu is also home to cute sweets and other items that are perfect now that it's starting to get cold outside! Several items come with special gifts, like the "2.5 Dimension Figure 25th Anniversary Collection" and the "Futaba Kindergarten Bus Deluxe Box."

The Bistro Oramachi Official Shop is bursting with specially drawn designs in dreamy pastel colours! Inside the shop you'll find plenty of luxurious items that you can use every day, like the "Bistro Oramachi Original 2-Way Butt Pochette," "Bistro Oramachi Original Leather Handle Premium Tote Bag," and the "Bistro Oramachi Original Plushie (Bistro Shin-chan)," plus items for babies like the "Bistro Oramachi Original Rompers" and the "Bistro Oramachi Original Cutsew." Customers who spend ¥2,500 (including tax) or more in store will receive a limited edition golden keyring that comes with a charm attached. The "Bistro Oramachi Original Jumbo Shin-chan" mascot is eagerly awaiting your visit!
