A tale of new magical girls is coming to your smartphone! Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magia Record is being released for smartphones in the spring of 2017, and pre-registration is already open!
Aniplex Inc. has joined up with f4samurai, Inc. for the smartphone game Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magia Record which will feature a number of new characters designed by Ume Aoki. The official website went up on Sept. 30 at 6 p.m., at which time pre-registration opened.
A special preview clip of Magia Record was played at the Shaft 40th anniversary commemorative event, Madogatari Exhibit. This event was held in Tokyo’s TEPIA event hall from Sept. 22-25. A commercial featuring this clip was released online at the same time and also began airing on TV on Oct. 1.
Magia Record is a smartphone game featuring new magical girls in the same world as the Magica Quartet’s original work, Puella Magi Madoka Magica. More than 10 new characters will appear and were specially designed by the original character designer for Madoka Magica, Aoki Ume. Gekidan Inu Curry will work on the in-game witch designs, and Shaft will work on the opening animation. f4samurai developed the game and are known for other popular smartphone games like Hortensia Saga -Ao no Kishidan- and Ange Vierge ~Girl Battle~. Characters from the original Madoka Magica series will be making appearances, as well, guaranteeing that fans will get to enjoy the charm of the series they know and love come spring 2017. Set in the growing city of Mihama,

Arriving to this city, a young girl named Iro Tamaki says,
“Hey… Ui… Why did you have to go…?”
This new story is written by magical girls with strong wishes.
