■ About Peanuts
The Peanuts comic follows Snoopy, the most famous beagle in the world, his owner Charlie Brown, and their unique friends. It was created by Charles M. Schulz (1926-2000), one of the most significant American comic artists of the 20th century. It started its serialization on Oct. 2, 1950 in seven American papers including the Washington Post. Since then, it has come to be loved all around the world, and has been translated into 21 different languages for 75 countries and 2,200 papers over its 66 years of history. It was translated into Japanese by Shuntaro Tanikawa and became hugely popular. There’s currently a Snoopy Museum in Tokyo’s Roppongi district where sketches will be on display for two and a half years.
