Shopping Guide
In conjunction with the Japanese festival of Tanabata, Kobe Electric Railways are set to display banners featuring the wishes of local kindergarten and nursery school children around their stations and aboard their trains which will have the “Tanabata Ressha” nameplates fixed to the engine.
The Kobe Electric Railways Ao Line Activation Council began this initiative back in 2010, and to begin with it was only on the Ao line but has continued to expand in scale every year and now cooperates with kindergartens and nurseries throughout the Shintetsu line.
Kobe Electric Railways aims to contribute to local life through this seasonal event, bringing local residents closer and supporting the future of the area with children who grow up healthy and happy.
**Details:
1. Display of placards and special decoration
・From June 24 to July 8 2016
・Participating Stations: Nishi-Suzurandai, Ono, Tanigami Station, Okaba
・About the Event: Display of posters with wishes and messages, Tanabata-style decorations, etc.
2. Tanabata train service
・Service Duration: June 24 - July 8, 2016
“Happy Train” (5000 Series four-car train) decorated with Tanabata livery and a “Tanabata Ressha" headplate. Children’s wishes and messages will also be displayed on posters inside the trains.
