A special collaborative project has landed on Bandai’s official online store, Premium Bandai, as Gintama and Naruto Shippuden come together with Gifu’s traditional ceramic art - Mino Ware! Each of the elegant small plates has been created in line with the historically themed franchises’ unique world view and will retail as a complete set of four for 4,320 yen (including tax, excluding shipping and handling fees). Pre-orders began at 1:00 pm on May 30.
Mino Ware is a traditional ceramic art closely associated with the Gifu region of Japan. This collaboration with Naruto Shippuden and Gintama is the second wave of anime-themed Mino Ware items so far. The small mamezara plates come as a set of four measuring 70 millimeters in diameter and packaged inside a custom-made box. They aren’t just a great way to bring a little elegance to your dining table, they’re also sure to brighten up your interior environment too!
Gintama Joui Four Seasons Mino Ware Mamezara Small Plate Set
This set is themed around the Joui Shitennou: “White Demon” Sakata Gintoki, “Nobleman of Fury” Katsura Kotaro, “Leader of the Kiheitai” Takasugi Shinsuke, and "The Dragon of Katsurahama” Sakamoto Tatsuma. Gintoki is spring, Kotaro is summer, Takasugi is autumn, and Sakamoto is winter as represented in the pattern around the edge of the dish. While enjoying the rotation of the seasons, you can think deeply about each character’s way of life too.
Naruto Shippuden Mangekyo Sharingan Mino Ware Mamezara Small Plate Set
The Mangekyo Sharingan is a more advanced form of Sharingan available to the Uchiha clan brought about by the extreme trauma of killing a close friend. The set is themed around Uchiha clan members including Sasuke Uchiha, Itachi Uchiha, Obito Uchiha, and Madara Uchiha with each of their Mangekyo Sharingan eyes informing the design.
Each of the four designs uses a specialist black/red contrast pulling the eyes in deeper. The dishes also come packaged inside a custom box featuring the Uchiha crest in gold leaf on the top so it really feels like an authentic product.
