Character illustrations have been posted for the upcoming TV anime to begin broadcasting in January 2016, HaruChika: Haruta to Chika wa Seishun Suru. Continuing from the previously posted main characters Chika Homura and Haruta Kamijo, illustrations of seven new characters drawn by Nitroplus’ Namaniku ATK have been released this time.
The seven characters posted are wind instrument club advisor Shinjiro Kusakabe, wind instrument club president and trumpet player Keisuke Katagiri, first year student and oboe player Miyoko Narushima, experienced saxophone player Maren Sei, clarinet player Naoko Serizawa, bass trombone player Akari Goto, and percussionist Kaiyu Hiyama.
The poses and facial expressions give a sense of each character’s personality, and a more familiar sense of the series’ world can be gleaned from the artwork as well. How the characters will come to life in the anime and who will be voicing them are both points to look forward too. Keep it here for more to come.
The TV anime is based on a “wind instrument club mystery” light novel series by Sei Hatsuno and published by Kadokawa Bunko titled HaruChika that is comprised of the short stories Exit Game, First Love Sommelier, Imaginary Organ, One Thousand Years Juliet, and Planet Karon. Directing the anime is Masakazu Hashimoto who previously worked on Tari Tari and Crayon Shin-chan: My Moving Story! Cactus Large Attack!, the series composer is Reiko Yoshida of K-On! and Girls und Panzer fame, and the character designer is Asako Nishida of Love Live! and Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko fame. Talk about a wonderfully talented staff lineup. The anime is being produced by P.A. Works, the studio behind Shirobako and Charlotte.
