“Star Wars” Nebuta Floats to Appear in the Aomori Nebuta Festival

It has been decided that a series of Star Wars nebuta floats will be featured in the opening eve ceremony of the Aomori Nebuta Festival.

The Star Wars floats were created based on designs from Lucasfilm by professional nebuta creators. A total of four nebuta floats will light up the darkness of night on Aug. 1 during the opening ceremony, with C-3PO and R2-D2 on the “Droid Nebuta,” Luke Skywalker and Yoda on the “Jedi Nebuta,” and Darth Vader as well as Darth Maul on the “Sith Nebuta.” The fourth nebuta remains a secret.

After being revealed during the opening ceremony, the Star Wars nebuta floats will be on display at Warasse, the home of nebuta floats.
