Visuals have been released for the entire cast of the musical Kuroshitsuji: Chi ni Moeru Lycoris 2015 (Black Butler: Lycoris that Blazes the Earth), performances of which will begin this November. The main cast members already announced have sparked attention, and this time there are even more interesting, unique characters.
Musicals for Black Butler began in 2009. Just like the original manga and anime, their popularity is high. One reason for this is the top-notch portrayal of the characters by the cast. This high quality can also be seen in the new visuals released this time that show the entire cast together. The musical this time will be set during the Red Butler arc. The new performance in this series that was also adapted into a musical in 2014 is titled Chi ni Moeru Lycoris (Lycoris that Blazes the Earth).
Playing main character Sebastian Michaelis is Yuta Furukawa, a seasoned actor who gave a commendable performance as Rudolf in the musical Elizabeth. Playing Ciel Phantomhive is Nayuta Fukuzaki. Continuing as Grell Sutcliff, a role he has played since the first musical, is Takuya Uehara. Other cast members reprising previous roles include Shuhei Izumi as Undertaker, Yoshihide Sasaki as the Viscount of Driutt, Hirofumi Araki as Lau, and Akane Liv as Madam Red. Also, making his first appearance in a Black Butler musical is Yusuke Yata as Charles Grey. Yata previously played Shusuke Fuji in the second season of the Prince of Tennis musical. Also joining the Black Butler musical for the first time is Shiori Sakata who plays Sailor Venus in the Sailor Moon musical.
Performances of the musical will be held from November to December in four cities across Japan: Osaka, Miyagi, Tokyo, and Fukuoka. Tickets will go on sale Aug. 30. With these new visuals that even show new cast members, fans’ anticipation will likely rise all the more. Don’t take your eyes off this musical.
