The Noragami TV anime series, which was based on a manga by Adachitoka, and previously aired from January to March 2014, will make its return this autumn. New information about the series in being announced in succession, not least of which is the big news about the broadcast of the second season of Noragami.
Firstly the broadcast will start in autumn, and the new title will be Aragoto, as shown by the text. The released visuals show the protagonist Yato and Bishamon, who played an active role in the first season. The illustrations, full of movement and intensity, evoke the development of the second season.
Noragami is a popular manga that is currently serialized in Monthly Shonen Magazine (Kodansha). Currently it is a big hit, with over 4 million volumes sold. The first season of the TV anime series was also very popular.
The self-styled “god” protagonist, Yato, has an ambition to gain his own shrine, and day-to-day he solves the problems of those in distress. Yato gets to know the schoolgirl Hiyori Iki though strange circumstances. Along with the shinki Yukine, who was picked up by Yato joining them as the third member, they deepen their mutual bonds and grow together. In the second season, it appears that the three companions will become entangled in further incidents.
Both the staff and cast are part of a splendid set-up, following on from their previous work. Kotaro Tamura, who directed his first TV series on the last season, has realised both a hard and dense production. Deko Akao will handle series composition, and Toshihiro Kawamoto, who plays an active role in the currently-airing Blood Blockade Battlefront, will be in charge of character design. Bones will continue with animation production, and finish up a product that will surely satisfy fans. We will also surely see some firm performances from Hiroshi Kamiya as Yato, Maaya Uchida as Hiyori Iki, and Yuuki Kaji as Yukine. Other cast members in the wonderful lineup include: Jun Fukuyama, Kazuhiko Inoue, Aki Toyosaki, Daisuke Ono, Toru Ohkawa, Asami Imai, and Rie Kugimiya.
Furthermore, on Saturday, Aug. 8, a special programming event will take place, which hasn't occurred in the past few years. A panel discussion and script read-through is scheduled, with more information likely to come. The cast will gather at Hibiya Public Hall.
