New chapter Naruto Gaiden begins short term serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump on April 27
Serialization has been confirmed for an all new side story in the Naruto series that concluded serialization in November 2014. This was announced in issue 18 of Weekly Shonen Jump released on March 30. Naruto Gaiden: Nanadaime Hokage to Akairo no Hanatsuzuki will begin a short term serialization in a double issue of the magazine on sale April 27. A half a year after the conclusion of serialization, author Masashi Kishimoto is now drawing a new era. This is likely pleasant news for fans.
Details on the story haven’t been revealed, but new specially drawn artwork has been released in time for the start of the new serialization. One shows Naruto’s son, Boruto Uzumaki, and Sarada Uchiha. It seems the next generation of Naruto and Sasuke will play big roles in the new series. The other piece of artwork shows Naruto all grown up. It seems the Seventh Hokage Naruto will also make an appearance. The new series is both a side story and a new story. This first new manga after the previous conclusion is drawing large anticipation.
Naruto is a popular manga that began serialization in 1993. The series picked up popularity not just in Japan but worldwide, and the story concluded in November 2014. Immediately following this, the movie The Last: Naruto the Movie was released, which has given rise to various projects that have continued since. The talked-about stage performance called “Live Spectacle Naruto” also opened recently on March 21. A music event to which all fans are invited called “Naruto the Live Vol. 0” will be held on Saturday, April 11.
