The musical Live Spectacle Naruto, based on Masashi Kishimoto’s incredibly popular original work, will be opening on Mar. 21, 2015. It will be showing in four different locations nationally and three different locations overseas. Despite there still being a month before the opening, the buzz and excitement is already in motion. One of the reasons for this may be credited to the high-quality character visuals that had been revealed since January. The reveals of the character visuals so far have been much praised due to them perfectly matching the expectations of fans.
With this recent announcement, the visuals for the entire cast have now been revealed. All 18 members of the cast appear together on one page for the newly unveiled visual. They are shown not just in plain form, but striking dynamic poses, said to be based on the respective characters’ “battle images.” The story itself will follow the contents of volumes 1-27 of the original manga. With these last few visually intense reveals, expectations have only been further heightened for the musical, Live Spectacle Naruto.
Although the manga Naruto recently ended its serialization in fall 2014, starting with the musical, there is still much commotion about events planned for the franchise. April 25, 2015 will be the opening of an exhibit, Serialization Conclusion Commemoration: Masashi Kishimoto Naruto Exhibition, at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Roppongi. Along with the musical, these events are sure to become the center of attention this spring.
Furthermore, a new movie called Boruto - Naruto the Movie (working title) will be premiering in summer 2015. The story will be focused on the generation of Naruto’s children, and seems to be garnering much attention among fans.
Live Spectacle Naruto will be opening its first performance at AiiA Theater Tokyo in Shibuya, Tokyo. For a limited time, the theater plans to focus on 2.5D musicals (productions based on an anime, game, or manga).
Under this plan, the theater will also temporarily change its name to operate as AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo. Incredibly, a way to view subtitles will also be provided for foreigners viewing the performance! The theater seeks to distinguish itself as a famous musical venue for both domestic and international fans.
