Additional cast members and a brand new visual have been unveiled for the April 2015 anime, Sound! Euphonium. The anime is based off of the light novel Sound! Euphonium Welcome to Kitauji High School’s Musical Instrument Club by Ayano Takeda. A story about the spring of youth of the Kitauji Music Club, the anime will be produced by Kyoto Animation, the studio that also made series such as Free! and Tamako Market. The main cast and promotional videos were unveiled back in January, catching the notice of many.
The new visual features the four members of the main cast backdropped by blue skies, giving one a feeling of invigorating youth. The second round of female character announcements are Asuka Tanaka voiced by Minako Kotobuki, Haruka Ogasawara voiced by Saori Hayami, and Kaori Nakaseko voiced by Minori Chihara. The new male characters are Shuichi Tsukamoto voiced by Haruki Ishiya, and Noboru Taki voiced by Takahiro Sakurai. While Sakurai’s character Noboru Taki is a music teacher, the rest of the newly announced characters are all members of the music club.
The opening and ending themes have also been announced. The opening theme will be “Dream Solister” by True. The ending theme “Tutti!”, will be sung by the four girls of the main cast: Tomoyo Kurosawa, Ayaka Asai, Moe Toyota, and Chika Anzai (each singing as their respective character).
Prior to the airing of the anime, a special Sound! Euphonium event will be happening at the Red Stage on the first day of AnimeJapan 2015 to be held this March. The newly announced cast members Saori Hayami, Minori Chihara, and Takahiro Sakurai will be attending. We can’t wait for Kyoto Animation’s brand new title, Sound! Euphonium!
