A new TV commercial has been made for the popular product Jibanyan’s Chocolate, the same confection seen in the anime Yo-Kai Watch. The version made public this time is a Valentine’s Day version that will be available for a limited time to bring even more excitement to this time of year. The commercial gives fans the chance to enjoy pleasant banter between the characters. The first airing of the commercial came during the Feb. 6 broadcast of Episode 55 of Yo-Kai Watch at 6:30 p.m.
Jibanyan’s Chocolate is a reproduction of the favorite confection of the series’ mascot character, Jibanyan. This original chocolate bar is tightly packed with puffs and corn flakes in milk chocolate and has a delightful crunchy texture. The bar is a faithful reproduction of the ones shown in the series, so fans can enjoy them together with Jibanyan. Their moderate price of 100 yen (plus tax) is also a selling point, so it’s a perfect gift as obligatory Valentine’s Day chocolate, chocolate for friends, or as a gift to yourself.
The new TV commercial is themed after Valentine’s Day, which will finally be here next week. Jibanyan and Whisper appear from the start, and a comical dialogue similar to that of the anime unfolds. A highlight is the intense and comical facial expressions Whisper makes.
Yo-Kai Watch was originally released in 2013 as a Nintendo 3DS game. Its popularity exploded through various multimedia developments including anime, manga, and merchandise, and it’s a hit work that was selected for the Top 10 of the 2014 Shingo Ryukogo Award. The TV anime began in January 2014. The first movie in the series, Yo-Kai Watch the Movie: The Secret is Create, Nyan!, released Japanwide in December 2014, and this as well continues to record good earnings.
