The popular light novel Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu published by Gagaga Bunko (Shogakukan) is becoming a TV anime. It will broadcast on TBS and BS-TBS. At the same time this information was announced, the official homepage and Twitter account for the anime opened. A portion of the main staff was also revealed.
A talented group who have worked on various talked-about works has been appointed to the staff. Directing is Hiroyuki Kanbe who is known from the Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai series and the series composer is Naruhisa Arakawa who is also active in the tokusatsu genre, having worked on the Kamen Rider series and the Super Sentai series. The character designer is Kazuaki Morita from such series as Arpeggio of Blue Steel and Persona 4 the Animation, and creating the animation is Production IMS which is also responsible for Inari, Konkon, Koi Iroha and Date A Live II.
The key visual shows main character Sōji Mitsuka and his childhood friend Aika Tsube. Fans can also check out a line drawing of Erina Shindō, the student council president of Yōgetsu Academy, the school that Sōji and Aika both attend. Just how will this unusual work themed after twintails be expressed as an anime?
The original work to Ore, Twintail ni Narimasu is a light novel of the same name by Yume Mizusawa that won the Judge Award in the Sixth Shogakukan Light Novel Awards. The illustrations are drawn by illustrator and manga artist Ayumu Kasuga. The first volume was released in June 2012, and there are currently five volumes in print. The story follows male high school student Sōji Mitsuka who has an obsession with twintails and transforms into the twintail warrior Tail Red. It’s an action story packed with aberrant battles against monsters attacking the city. These intense battle scenes and the portrayal of twintails are not to be missed.
