Puyopuyo!! Quest turns 1! Japanese actress Chiaki Kuriyama does PR for the game in a new commercial! And the wonderful, long-awaited new work by dance music project VIVIVID, whose debut music video has received over 300,000 views, is chosen as the game’s support song!
The countrywide broadcast of the new commercial for Puyopuyo!! Quest, an iOS/Android game app that has 8 million downloads, began in Japan on April 23. Chosen as the music for the commercial is dance music project VIVIVID’s new song “Age of Fun feat. Vell & Ayaka.”
Puyopuyo!! Quest is a puzzle RPG. It is a game optimized for smartphones in which players can enjoy “the exhilarating feel of chaining.”
VIVIVID has the unique premise of being “a borderless dance music project with an unannounced producer and unspecified number of members which singers, DJs, and creators freely join and leave and encourage each other through offering new values.” The project has captivated quick-eared listeners with its colorful and unconventional world, and the music video for “Love 2 Move” off their first EP is currently a huge hit with over 300,000 views.
Appearing on the track as vocalists are bilingual vocalist Vell (Miracle Vell Magic) and Ayaka (Ayaka Takei). The song offers rapid punchlines in a positive and carefree VIVIVID style with vocals like “F-U-N the age of fun, F-U-N age of fun, let’s go!!!” remaining in your head after viewing the catchy and colorful Puyopuyo!! Quest commercial.
At a press conference on April 24, Chiaki Kuriyama, who played Gogo Yubari in Kill Bill, appeared on stage to announce that she will be doing PR for the app, saying, “I too find time to play it.” At the end of the interview, she talked about her enthusiasm as a CM character: “I want to convey the enjoyment of the new Puyopuyo!! Quest through this new commercial.”
