TOM Reimports a Sci-Fi Novel Hugely Popular in Japan Back to America! Experience the Twitter-Born Novel Ninja Slayer!

On April 11, distribution began on Tokyo Otaku Mode of a ninja violence cyberpunk novel created by two Americans, Ninja Slayer. The original English version can only be read online on TOM.

The sci-fi novel Ninja Slayer began serialization suddenly on Twitter in 2010. The stout story flowing with a sense of punishment follows a man whose family is murdered and who uses the power of karate that ninjas possess to exact his revenge. With dynamic developments overflowing with violent depictions and text that uses “Japanese that even Japanese people don’t know,” the series has exploded in popularity.

Its characteristic is its complicated world that portrays through unique interpretations Neo Saitama, a city excessively rich with Japan in an excessive cyberpunk feel that brings to mind the movie Blade Runner , Yakuza, salarymen, karate, and other “stereotypical Japan-like cultures.” It has now jumped from Twitter into several media mix projects including books, manga, and collaborations with video games. An anime has also been announced from Trigger, an animation studio that created Little Witch Academia and Kill la Kill.

The authors of the original novel are two Americans: Bradley Bond and Philip Ninj@ Morzez. The novel was translated by Yu Honda and Raika Sugi and its serialization on Twitter began. The Ninja Slayer Twitter account is even now ambitiously publishing a new work, and over 45,000 followers look forward to the blood-stained fights that unfold between ninjas.

Tokyo Otaku Mode has now been specially granted permission to distribute online the “original version” of Ninja Slayer! We’ve borrowed the original work from the Ninja Slayer translation team to bring you the full story of this hidden violent and occultic ninja/karate novel. wonderful visuals showing realistic destructive acts by illustrator Warainaku are also published with the novel.

By all means, experience the explosive action and strange Japanese of the novel Ninja Slayer that many Japanese people have become strangely fascinated by.
