Starting with Hajime Isayama’s manga, the Attack on Titan series has spread to various other media worldwide, including a TV anime, theatrical anime, live-action movie, music, and spin-off manga. The series’ momentum shows no signs of slowing down.

A large-scale exhibit looking back on the appeal of the series will take place this winter at the Ueno Royal Museum in Tokyo. Titled “Attack on Titan Exhibition,” the event is planned to take up the entire Ueno Royal Museum building. The art museum will be occupied by the Titans.

Original drawings and more from the series will be on display at the exhibit. Various other events are also planned, the particulars to which have not yet been announced. The duration of the exhibit and other details are forthcoming. Look forward to finding out exactly what kind of exhibit this will be. In any case though, there is no doubt that the exhibit will shed light on the secrets behind the creation of Attack on Titan.

Attack on Titan began serialization in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2009. Since this time, it has gained huge acclaim for its original story and powerful artwork. An anime adaptation aired in 2013, which made the series known to a much broader audience. More than 36 million copies of the manga have been sold. In the works this year are a theatrical anime and a live-action movie. It seems the momentum of Attack on Titan is only accelerating.

Comment from Hajime Isayama:
“There is so much going on with Attack on Titan. To all those who want to be shocked and excited, please look forward to it!”
