A teaser visual of Amagi Brilliant Park, the anime adaptation for which was decided on earlier this year, has released. The visual is an impressive shot of a run-down amusement park in the background. Look forward to this peculiar work that tries to recreate Japan’s most famous abandoned amusement park.
The original work to Amagi Brilliant Park is a light novel series currently being published by Fujimi Fantasia Bunko (Kadokawa). It is authored by hitmaker Shoji Gatoh, who also created Full Metal Panic. Directing the anime is Yasuhiro Takemoto ( Luck Star, Hyouka* ), and creating the anime is Kyoto Animation ( The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, K-On! ).
Other anime adaptations of Gatoh’s works by director Takemoto include Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu and Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid. Gatoh also worked on these two anime as series composer and writer. Because of the skill each of these two possess, it seems we can expect a substantial anime this time as well.
A talk show between Gatoh and director Takemoto was held at the Kadokawa booth at AnimeJapan 2014 on March 23. Keep on the lookout for forthcoming details about the staff and cast.
Seiya Kanie is forced to accept a date invitation to an amusement park by mysterious transfer student Isuzu Sento. Not understanding why, he is taken to Japan’s most deplorable amusement park with the absolute worst service: Amagi Brilliant Park. There, he is tasked by “genuine” spoiled rich girl Latifa, who happens to be the manager, with rebuilding the park, which is on the brink of shutting down… A wonderland comedy by the powerful tag team of author Shoji Gatoh, director Yasuhiro Takemoto, and studio Kyoto Animation is about to begin.
