Nitroplus Chiral’s Masterpiece BL Game Dramatical Murder is Becoming an Anime for Summer 2014 Release

Nitroplus creates games with rich stories that drive players wild. Now, the game Dramatical Murder by Nitroplus Chiral, a female oriented brand, is becoming an anime. Fans will be able to see it this summer.

The anime was announced on March 23, two years after the release of the game. A surprise announcement was also made on this eventful day. The anime will first be released at events to come, including screening events. Even though the original work is a boys’ love game, because it’s Nitroplus, an interesting story is anticipated. This is something not just females, but also males can look forward to.

The main character is Aoba, a resident of Midorijima, an island to the southwest of Japan. Aoba works part-time at a junk shop while living with his grandmother, Tae. On the island, there are two fads that are popular. The first, called “Ribstiez,” is a turf war game in which members use themselves as weapons. The second is “Rhyme,” an online game in which players battle in virtual reality. Aoba doesn’t participate in either one, but one day, he is suddenly dragged into it and forced to have a Rhyme battle.

The cast from the game are returning to their roles in the anime, with Atsushi Kisaichi as Aoba, Hiroki Takahashi as his childhood friend Kōjaku, Satoshi Hino as the mysterious youth Noiz, Kenichirō Matsuda as Mink who uses any means to reach his goal, Masatomo Nakazawa as Clear, and Ryōta Takeuchi as Ren, an artificial lifeform known as an All Mate. Fans can expect the same quality voice work as the game.

On the staff side, Kazuya Miura ( Macross F ) is directing and Tōko Machida ( The Idolmaster, Amnesia ) is the series composer. Also participating is Kabura Fuchii, original game scenario writer for Dramatical Murder and Togainu no Chi. Responding to fans’ expectations, the anime’s opening theme is being handled by Goatbed, the same band that created music for the game. Information on the screening event and more will be announced on the official site for the anime.

Comment from Atsushi Kisaichi (Aoba):
