The first chapter in the Persona 3 movie released last November and had a favorable run. Now, things are finally starting to pick up for the release of Chapter 2 this summer. On Feb. 15, a new key visual showing a new character was released along with information on advance tickets to begin being sold in theaters countrywide in Japan on March 1. It has been revealed that the movie will release in 26 theaters. The movie’s official title is Persona 3 the Movie #2: Midsummer Knight’s Dream. The movie will include the summer part of the story that focuses on Makoto Yūki who transferred to Gekkoukan High School.
In the new key visual, the main character Makoto Yūki can be seen lined up with the other members of the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad that include Yukari Takeba, Junpei Iori, Fuuka Yamagishi, Mitsuru Kirijo, Shinjiro Aragaki, Ken Amada, and Koromaru. Also, a highlight is the appearance of Aigis drawn large in the background. Aigis is an android created by the Kirijo Group in order to gain control over the Shadow, but she was given an ego through a special method so that she is able to use Personas. In order to complete her vital mission, she appears ahead of the truth. She is voiced by Maaya Sakamoto.
The advance tickets will come with a special bonus fans will be looking forward to. The bonus will be a set that includes a character clear file that gained popularity when Chapter 1 was released and a Persona leaflet. These include four of the main characters who will appear in Chapter 2.
New information for Chapter 1 has also been released. The Blu-ray and DVD will be released on May 14. Not to be missed is the included director’s cut that features seven additional minutes of the movie not seen in theaters. This itself makes it worth it. The pre-order-only limited edition is filled with bonuses to make fans happy and will come with a soundtrack CD, a 48-page booklet, the talked-about “Super P3 Stickers” (One is a package exclusive and nine are random from those given to theatergoers during the movie’s theatrical run.), and four illustrated cards. Get Chapter 1 and look forward to Chapter 2 at the same time.
