Strict-G and High-Quality Tie Maker Robert Frazer Present 14 Gundam-Themed Neck Ties

The Robert Frazer brand of ties, renowned for their high quality, are now collaborating with Mobile Suit Gundam. Strict-G, which has done many collaborations with well-known makers before, has its sights set on neck ties this time.

Robert Frazer paired up with Japanese tie maker Ainexx to create ties that express the world of Mobile Suit Gundam and are also very fashionable. Strict-G has dubbed the lineup their “Robert Frazer Collaboration Ties.”

Strict-G has previously generated many collaborative menswear items based on the Gundam series with familiar brands such as Edwin, Porter, and Mastermind. In each case, what distinguishes these products is how they remain loyal to the Gundam universe while maintaining a high degree of fashionability. Ainexx was started in 1949 in Kanazawa as a wholesale and Western goods store. It has maintained its reputation as a high-quality goods maker with a focus on fashionability. It is now a hallmark of domestic necktie makers. From the colors, to the weaving patterns, to the raw silk thread, it is evident from their latest items that creating top quality products is their priority.

The result of their collaborative effort is a set of necktie designs that are both simple and stylish, making them well suited for any business environment. There are four basic designs in the series: solid color, logo striped, regimental striped, and dotted. However, each of them pays homage to the Mobile Suit Gundam series.

For example, three of the solid-colored ties are colored to match Char Aznable, Ramba Ral, and the Principality of Zeon. The back of each tie includes the personal emblems of Aznable and Ral, as well as the mark of Zeon. The logo-striped ties are colored to match the mobile suits themselves. The text that makes up the stripes indicates the mobile suit name and number. The regimental-striped ties are also based on the mobile suits, and include a monogram mark of Zeon pattern on the back. The dot-patterned ties are particularly interesting. The dots on each tie are based on Char’s custom Zaku II. People in the know will recognize it’s stylish design.

The solid and logo striped designs will be available from Feb. 8, and the regimental stripe and dot designs, from early March. Each is ¥7,800 (excluding tax) and will be available at the Odaiba Diver City Tokyo Plaza Gundam Store and the Shin-Toumei highway service area Neopasa store in Shizuoka Prefecture.
