The movie Nuigurumaa Z will be released Japan-wide on Jan. 25. Based on Kenji Otsuki’s novel Housei Ningen Nuigurumaa, the movie is being talked about for Shoko Nakagawa being in the lead role. Now, a bonus item that will be given to those who see the movie in theaters has been revealed. The item is an original clear file folder with an exclusive design by the movie’s character designer, Shigeto Koyama.
The visual on the clear file folder shows the main character Yumeko Ayukawa aka Dame-ko (no-good girl). Similarly to the movie, she is shown wearing her one-of-a-kind Baby, Star Sunshine Bright dress. She is posed with her teddy bear Boosuke in one hand just moments before transforming into Nuigurumaa. Shigeto Koyama is a popular creator who has worked on many series, beginning with the Rebuild of Evangelion movies. Because of this, this bonus is likely to become a fan-essential item.
Shoko Nakagawa was impressed with the illustration, saying, “Dame-ko, the character I play, appears in a wonderful and lovely illustration done in that Eva touch I love! The character Dame-ko is engraved in the history of Eva - I’m so happy I look like a glowing lantern.” She also had a message for fans: “Definitely get this wonderful illustration! I want to get lots of them and pass it down through my family until the end of time as a treasure of my life.”
Director Noboru Iguchi also praised the illustration, saying, “Oh, how superbly beautiful! To think that Kayama drew such a cute illustration of Nakagawa’s character, Dame-ko! Even Boosuke is cute!” He went on to say, “What a bright year 2014, a year in which such a wonderful present is being given out, will be. Everyone who has this will become young maidens!” A limited quantity of these clear file folders will be given out to moviegoers on a first come, first served basis once the movie releases. Those who want to make sure they get one should get to theaters sooner rather than later.
