Kyōji Asano is a representative animator at Wit Studio who has worked on huge hits that include Hal and Attack on Titan. Currently, he is the character designer on the huge hits Attack on Titan and Psycho-Pass, to which a second season and movie adaptation have been decided. He was also the animation director on Sengoku Basara: The Last Party and Kimi ni Todoke. An exhibition introducing the world of Asano’s works will be held from Oct. 2-6 at the Koga Machikado Art Gallery in Koga City, Ibaraki Prefecture.

Primarily on display at the exhibit will be reproduced art from Wit Studio’s first TV anime Psycho-Pass and Attack on Titan and from the opening movie of the DVD for the late-night variety program Suiyou Dou Desho that is broadcast on HTB and other networks. The artworks to be displayed were used by Asano during the anime production process for deciding on characters’ movements and they are packed with appeal. With over 150 illustrations to be on display, it seems that this exhibit is well-worth seeing.

Asano was born and raised in Koga. The mascot character he created in 2011 for the Koga City Cultural Society is currently being used as the image character of the Koga City Cultural Festival. It seems that this exhibit came about due to these connections. Though the exhibit does have a limited five-day run, there is no doubt it will be filled with must-see art for fans.

The exhibit will be free to attend and those who arrive first will receive a set of two gifts that use illustrations drawn for the occasion by Asano. This gorgeous set will come with an illustration design of Eren from Attack on Titan and one of Kōgami from Psycho-Pass. These presents are limited, and distribution will end once quantities run out. For those who want this, make certain to get their early.
