Gō Nagai’s original work Mazinger is being made into an anime with beautiful robot girls called Robot Girls Z that will begin broadcasting in January 2014 on Toei networks (Sky PerfecTV!, CATV, etc.).
The robots from Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, and UFO Robot Grendizer are all being reimagined in the anime as steel suit-wearing beautiful girls. The story follows Z-chan ( Mazinger Z ), Gre-chan ( Great Mazinger ), and Grenda-chan ( UFO Robot Grendizer ) who form the group Robot Girls Z and fight against the Underground Empire to protect the Photon Energy Research Institute and the surrounding area. A mini episode (Episode 0) is now available on the official site.
The voice cast includes Mariko Honda as Z-chan, Inori Minase as Gre-chan, Kazusa Aranami as Grenda-chan, and Aya Hisakawa as Baron Asura.
The anime is the continuation of the project “Robot Girls” that started in 2009. As a part of this project, the robots from Demon Dragon of the Heavens Gaiking, Magne Robo Gakeen, Chojin Sentai Barattack, and Planet Robo Danguard Ace were reimagined as beautiful girls for promotional purposes.
