Story
The year is 2039. As result of rapidly rising sea temperatures caused by global warming, humanity has lost much of its habitable land. As if in answer to this, a fleet of ships armed with advanced weaponry known as the “Fleet of Fog” appears in the world's oceans and begin attacking humanity's naval forces.
With what strength it has left, humanity fights back in the Oceanic War but is no match for the overwhelming power of the Fog. Trade routes across all oceans are blockaded by the Fleet of Fog, causing economic collapse and bringing mankind to the brink of ruin.
Seven years after the Oceanic War, an enemy submarine, the I-401, appears before Shikan Kouhosei and Chihaya Gunzo. They then meet the physical manifestation of the ship, Iona, their supposed enemy who has something surprising in store for humanity.
