It has been announced that the TV anime Outbreak Company will begin broadcasting this October. This anime has picked up attention ever since production was first announced, so this news has been long-awaited by fans. The anime will be broadcast on TBS and BS-TBS. Outbreak Company is a unique fantasy work that depicts the story of Kano Shinichi who is tasked with going to the Holy Eldant Empire, a separate world that suddenly connects itself to Japan, to transmit otaku culture. More information on this anime, including the staff and main characters, has also been released.
The anime will be directed by Kei Oikawa whose other works include Minami-ke: Okawari. The series composer is Naruhisa Harakawa, who is active not only in anime but also special effects shows, having worked on Maoyu Mao Yusha and Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger. Takashi Mamezuka of Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father! fame is the character designer. The anime is being produced by Feel, which also produced Mayo Chiki! and So, I Can't Play H.
The three main characters in the series are the main character Kano Shinichi, a maid of the Holy Eldant Empire named Myusel Foalan, and the empress of the Holy Eldant Empire named Petrarca Ann Eldant III.
Also, an event for the anime will be held during “TBS Anime Festa 2013” on Aug. 10. More information about this will be posted to the official site in the coming days.
The anime is based on the original light novel series Outbreak Company: Moeru Shinryakusha that is currently being published by Kodansha Lightnovel. The series is written by Ichiro Sakaki will illustrations by Yugen. There are currently six volumes available.
