Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion, a movie with an entirely new story that follows after the TV anime and which fans have been anxiously awaiting, will be released in Japan on Oct. 26. Continuing on from the TV anime and the previous movies released last year, ClariS and Kalafina will once again be in charge of the movie’s theme songs.
Since the time of the TV anime, both artists have been supported by fans for their singing and melodies that fit the image of Madoka Magica. Even before the decision of who would sing the theme songs to this new movie, many fans anticipated them being appointed. More details on these songs will be released soon, so look forward to a follow-up report.
ClariS is a two-girl unit consisting of high school girls Clara and Alice. The group got their debut in 2010 with the theme song to the TV anime Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai. The girls’ actual appearances are a mystery and visuals of them only consist of drawings by popular illustrators.
Kalafina is a vocal group formed by popular musician Yuki Kajiura to produce songs for the anime Kara no Kyokai. The group has been in charge of theme songs for many anime in which Kajiura participated, including Fate/Zero. The group began a nationwide tour this June, which has picked up popularity and mobilized 20,000 people.
