Senki Zesshou Symphogear G, the second season to last year’s Senki Zesshou Symphogear, will begin broadcasting this month. The anime will begin broadcasting on MBS on July 4 at 2:35 a.m., TVA on July 4 at 3:05 a.m., BS 11 on July 5 at 11:30 p.m., and Tokyo MX on July 6 at 10:30 p.m. Furthermore, the anime will also begin broadcasting on Nico Nico Douga on July 7 at 11:30 p.m., with each episode being free to watch for the first week after its release.
Symphogear is a “genuine sound romance action” series. The original work was produced by game creator Akifumi Kaneko and the leader of the “sound production group” Elements Garden, Noriyasu Agematsu. The world of the series has a central theme of music, and its battles in which beautiful girls use their voices to duel have become popular.
The story of the second season picks up three months after Symphogear players Tachibana Hibiki (CV: Aoi Yuki), Kazanari Tsubasa (CV: Nana Mizuki), and Yukine Chris (CV: Ayahi Takagaki) ended the intense battle against the threat to humanity known as Noise. Due to a new enemy, a large group of Noise appears again, pushing Hibiki and the rest into the fray once more. What are this new enemy’s motives? And what are the goals of the mysterious Symphogear players whom Hibiki and the rest confront who see humanity as an enemy?
The theme song to the anime sung by Nana Mizuki titled “Vitalization” will be released on CD on July 31. Also, the ending theme sung by Ayahi Takagaki titled “Next Destination” will be released on Aug. 14.
The release of character songs using the voice stars from the anime has also been decided. In addition to season 1 familiars Hibiki, Tsubasa, and Chris, the lineup for these CDs will include the mysterious Symphogear players to be introduced in season 2, including Maria Cadenzavna Eve (CV: Youko Hikasa), Serena Cadenzavna Eve (CV: Yui Horie), Tsukuyomi Shirabe (CV: Yoshino Nanjo), and Akatsuki Kirika (CV: Ai Kayano). The first CD, titled Maria × Kazanari Tsubasa, will be released on July 17, with other CDs releasing thereafter.
