You can now try out the latest Japanese manga for free!
On May 30, the official union site for publisher Kodansha’s manga magazines Morning, Morning Two, Monthly Afternoon, Good! Afternoon, and Evening opened. The site, titled Moae, is a service not just for PC, but also iOS and Android devices, allowing fans to read currently released works anytime and anywhere via their smartphones. The theme of the site is “webcomics that cheer you up when you read them.”
On the site, a service in which you can try out the first chapter of each work is also offered. As of June 19, the amount of works available on the site, including past serialized works, has reached 196. Furthermore, popular webcomics from Morning’s official site – Katakuri, Dokushin OL no Subete, Mikako-san, 2DK, and Zucca x Zuca – are continuing their serializations on Moae.
In addition, to celebrate the opening of the site, “Encore Serialization,” a project in which popular works up until now will be distributed in order from the first chapter, has also started. The four works included in this project are Soten Koro, You’re Under Arrest, Moteki, and Moyashimon. These too will be free to read, with new chapters being released every Thursday (Japan time).
