Powerful Duo Imaishi and Nakashima Collaborate on Trigger Original Anime “Kill la Kill”

The official site for the new TV anime Kill la Kill has launched. The work is being directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, a lead director of the animation studio Trigger. Imaishi also worked on Gurren Lagann and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt.

The currently revealed staff are comprised of chief members from the anime that pushed the limits of the mecha genre: Gurren Lagann. Kazuki Nakashima personally commented, “I think it will become a special dark anime with the variety of Imaishi and myself.”

Trigger is known for the short anime Little Witch Academia which recently released, among other works. However, with the exception of their gross popularity, this is their first TV anime and certainly there is expectations of the same fighting spirit used in their past works also being in it. Just how hot of a work will this become? We will keep a very close eye on this one.
