45th Anniversary Deformed Figure Series of Memorable Characters from “Weekly Shonen Jump” Launches

In celebration of 45 years of Weekly Shonen Jump (published by Shueisha), characters from the magazine’s history have been made into adorable figures. The figures are being released as part of Banpresto’s deformed figure series, “World Collectable Figure,” and will be be released in succession for eight months, from May to December. A full lineup of characters that have been loved throughout several generations have been included.

The figure series “J Stars World Collectable Figure” features figures of active stars from the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump The first figure was released at the end of May. In total, eight figures will release in the series.

Various characters will appear in the series from currently serialized works and former masterpieces. The full lineup is as follows: Son Goku from Dragon Ball, Ryotsu Kankichi from Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen Mae Hashutsujo, Kinnikuman from Kinnikuman, Norimaki Arale from Dr. Slump, Seiya from Saint Seiya, Uzumaki Naruto from Naruto, Toriko from Toriko, and Gon Freecss from Hunter x Hunter.

In order to mainly target males in their 20s and 30s, the series includes characters from masterpiece works of the ‘80s. One figure from the series will release each month.

The perfectly deformed “World Collectable Figure” series is a highly collectable series. The series is popular for its designs that offer a different view of the work without destroying it, the size of the lineup, and the figures’ superb palmtop size. Since January 2009, figures from many works including Dragon Ball, One Piece, Kamen Rider, and Tiger & Bunny have made it into the series.
