The results of the Mega Man Xover original boss character contest have been announced. The winning submission was selected from over 800 entries.
The contest was held via Nico Nico Seiga and judged by Capcom staff as well as Nico Nico Seiga staff, Famitsu’s app editorial department, and Dengeki’s game app editorial department. “Arcade Man” was chosen as the winner and will be used in the game with the help of Capcom designers. Arcade man will be a playable boss in the game. Honorable mentions included “Tablet Man,” “Zea,” and “Daruman.” These will also appear within the game as original Battle Memory cards.
Currently, designers at Capcom are producing illustrations of the characters that will be used in the game. An announcement of Capcom’s refined characters is yet to be made.
Mega Man Xover is an original iPhone and Android game app that was created in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Mega Man (known in Japan as Rockman). As a new hero named Over-1, players will rescue versions of Mega Man spanning the series’ history while putting a stop the enemy’s evil plans.
