On March 27, Mune Kyun Exhibit 2, an illustration event in Shibuya, Tokyo, began. When the event was last held over four days in the summer of 2011, over 400 people were packed in the venue. Roughly a year and a half has passed, and this year, the event is running for 16 days in the gallery "galaxxxy in Hi-Fi," which is run by the stylish female fashion brand “galaxxxy”. Eight extremely talented illustrators have gathered for the event, displaying works that fully show their abilities.
The theme for the event is “the sparkling, radiant ‘80s.” The event features cute works that will evoke thoughts of ‘80s anime like Urusei Yatsura (1981) and Dr. Slump (1981), as well as eye-popping and surprising works that have daring compositions and vivid color usage. Together, the works from these new generation creators reconstruct the ‘80s!
The exhibit also has many items for sale that fans would not want to pass up, including “Mune Kyun Exhibit x galaxxxy” collaboration T-shirts and an illustration book packed with cuteness called Mune Kyun Book. For those who will be in Tokyo, why not stop by this exhibit and check it out?
