Items that feature illustrations of anime and game characters are called “Ita”. The representative form of Ita is the popular Itasha. However, there are even more forms of Ita that you may not be familiar with. In recent years, the idea of Ita has been rapidly expanding to include items such as Ita-snowboards, Ita-bicycles, Ita-computers, and even pillows and bed sheets covered in character illustrations. The variety of the Ita culture seems endless. However, there are many fans who seem hesitant to show off their love of their favorite characters even though they want to. If you’re otaku, you’ve certainly thought about covering your room with your favorite characters, right? However, posters and projected images require space. Fear not though, we have found the answer to this problem. That answer is Curtain Damashii.
Curtain Damashii makes curtains with huge illustrations of game and anime characters on them. So even if you only have a window, you can turn it into a huge canvas on which to show your favorite characters some love. It would be near impossible to find a poster the size of a window, but fans will be pleased to know that Curtain Damashii can make their curtains in a variety of sizes, from a standard poster size to a gargantuan size curtain. Also, in case unexpected visitors show up, you can pull the curtain aside to make it less conspicuous. Furthermore, since the curtains can be ironed to get the wrinkles and creases out, they are easier to handle and make a better impression than posters.
Many otaku have no doubt had the regretful experience of trying to hang a large tapestry or bed sheet to their window, but quickly realized that since the fabric is transparent, the entire neighborhood can see what’s printed on it. Curtain Damashii has thought about this as well. Their curtains can be made using a non-transparent cloth, so whether it’s day or night, you don’t need to worry. This cloth also protects the printed images from sun damage, so it’s like killing two birds with one stone. Female fans will also be pleased to know that Curtain Damashii has an abundance of options that include lace and tassels.
Curtain Damashii opened only three years ago, but they already have the use of more than 50 titles and they make more than 350 designs, with even more added every month. Also, more than 20% of their customers are repeat customers, which means that the quality of the products is superb. For those who have been struggling with their desire to show off their love for their favorite characters, as well as those who are taking their first steps onto the path of otaku, why not use Curtain Damashii to transform your room into an otaku Ita-room?
*Currently, this item is only for sale within Japan. However, it will
begin being sold overseas soon.
