On Jan. 9, Toyota announced that the Mobile Suit Gundam collaboration concept car “Char Auris” will go on sale this year. A special site has also opened, which shows the catch phrase “Let the performance of the Auris enchant you.”
The Char Auris concept car turned many heads when it was displayed at last year’s Chara Hobby. The car is based on the Toyota Auris RS S Package and is painted in Char’s characteristic red. The car also features the Zeon emblem on the body. Currently, the specs on the car and the quantity being made have not been released.
To further tie-in with the original source work, a new project called Zeonic Toyota has also been unveiled on the special site. The project is a collaboration with the fictional company Zeonic from the country of Zeon and Toyota. Char Aznable is the company’s advisor and test driver. It is said that he will make full use of his “mutual know-how of developing mobile suits and cars” for the project.
