The promotional video for the debut CD of Shiina Pikarin, the 18 year old otaku superwoman from the underworld, has been released!
On Dec. 12, 2012, the promotional video for Shinryaku Pikarin Densetsu, the debut CD of Shiina Pikarin, an otaku gyaru icon and Popteen model, was released. Popteen is the preferred fashion magazine among gyaru, which is a subculture of Shibuya that can be thought of as the antithesis of otaku.
One might wonder how Shiina Pikarin can possess such dichotomy as to label herself an otaku gyaru. However, the truth is quite simple: she is a gyaru who loves anime and manga! For the release of the PV, Pikarin herself came up from the underworld for a photoshoot at Nicofarre in Roppongi.
Shiina really loves condensed milk, and at intervals between photo shoots, she can always be found drinking it. Even during busy photo shoots, there are times where she is photographed drinking directly from a tube of condensed milk. On her video being released, Pikarin commented, “My PV has finally been releaseeeeeed! I am so incredibly happy. ☆ I hope you all watch it, go crazy with excitement, and fall under my spell! ☆ The PV is so crazy and fun and now it’s complete! ☆ HiHi ☆” The PV is now available to view on Avex’s official page on YouTube.
