Miku Runs for Akiba Mayor! Declares Japan Otaku Transformation Plan

On April 1st, Hatsune Miku announced her candidacy for the Akiba mayoral election. She is the first virtual idol in the world to run in a political election.

At the press conference, Miku announced her Japan Otaku Transformation Plan, stating “world peace can be achieved if we Japanese promote and advance our world-class otaku culture.”

Objectives like “making words such as “moe” part of the official language and establishing a Cosplay Day for all citizens to enjoy cosplay” were printed in the manifest.

The press conference was filled with enthusiastic supporters shouting “Mikku Miku!”

However, once they learned that the line “negi will be provided everyday in school lunches” will be added to the manifest, voices of opposition were raised from a number of children who hate negi.

You know what today is right? April 1!
