Ordinal Scale Breaks Through 3.35 Billion Yen in Worldwide Box Office Revenue with Over 2.75 Million Tickets Sold!
It has been revealed that the currently screening theatrical anime Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale has broken through combined worldwide box office earnings of 3.35 billion yen with over 2.75 million tickets sold.
The movie was first released in Japan on Feb. 18, where it has become a long-running blockbuster earning over 250 million yen in domestic box office revenue and over 1.75 million tickets sold.
In celebration, a LIVE ZOUND screening and talk event will be held in Japan on June 10 at Kawasaki Cinecitta. Joining the talk event will be director Tomohiko Ito and sound director Yoshikazu Iwanami, and after an intense screening of the movie using the very best sound technology Ito and Iwanami will have stories to share including the synergy between the sound effects and visuals.
Ordinal Scale was also widely released in France in May 17, where it has achieved the third spot on the daily ranking, and it will also be releasing soon in Italy and Vietnam.
