From the early 2000s, when digital drawing suddenly beginning to increase, to the present day, one person who has drawn attention from web-based artists and continues to pull them along is TOKIYA. As an artist who possesses the values from both before and after digital, his art touches on abnormalness and honesty and has a peculiar sense of color that to this day he continues to refine. “Impasto style,” a term coined from graphic software, has become a general technique to the point that it itself has a symbolistic nuance amid the trend of digital drawing. However, the fetishistic style that pioneer TOKIYA pursues, along with being the embodiment of the present form of the graphic scene that continues to transform, is a premonition of the future of the digital drawing world.
